6.Green Anaconda Snake\r

Were already feeling uncomfortable just looking at this colossal crawler. If youve ever seen the franchise “Anaconda” films, these real life fs might not seem too impressive to you. The Green Anaconda can grow as long as twenty five feet and weigh up to five hundred pounds. There is a longer species of snake, the Reticulated Python, but they are not as bulky and heavy as the Green Anacondas. The Green Anaconda is native to South American swamps and marshes, and preys on fish, birds, wild pigs, and capybaras. Allegedly, an anaconda can go weeks without eating, sustaining itself off a large unlucky catch The largest snake ever recorded, Titanoboa, lived in Colombia eighty five million years ago. He was forty feet long, and weighed over a ton. Scientists discovered the snake when conducting fossil research in the Cerrejon region. And of course, it was just as scary as youd imagine it to be. According To National Geographic, it ed more like todays water anaconda, and would eat “any animal that caught its eye”. \r

The Ocean Sunfish may be an unexpected surprise to this list, but it is the largest species of BONY fish. They are members of the Osteichthyes group- an extremely vast collection of fish that contains over twenty ninety thousand variations of species.Its length is only about six foot long, but what it lacks in length it makes up for in weight. Ocean sunfish can weigh over two thousand pounds. The name sunfish comes from the f that they love to sunbathe, often swimming near the surface of the water. The sun helps them to warm up after theyve incurred the chilly waters of the deep ocean in order to find food. And they dive down pretty low- as low as two thousand six hundred feet! Their nickname, Mola Mola comes from the f that they look like millstones due to their rounded gray bodies. \r

Imagine seeing a rodent walking towards you that looks like the size of a large dog. You may recall the capybara as one of the the animals that the Green Anaconda preys on. Its the largest species of rodent in the world, but is still impressive nonetheless. Some people find rodents to be disgusting, but these guys are sort of charming. Much like many other rodents, the capybaras prefer to live in large groups of ten to twenty individuals. The capybara can weigh up to two hundred and thirty pounds! Thats way larger than most humans and can be likened to about twenty full, gallon sized paint cans. They live near freshwater sources like marshes and river banks in Central and South America. Luckily, these guys arent man eating rodents. They are herbivores and and known to eat “mostly water plants, grain melons and squash.\r

Most specifically, the Galapagos Tortoises are the longest living remaining vertebrates on the planet. According to National Geographic, the oldest Galapagos Tortoise that ever lived went on to live 152 years. Some grow to be GIANTS of the Galapagos Islands; the largest ever recorded were 5 feet long and five hundred and fifty pounds heavy. No wonder they move so slowly. They nap about sixteen hours a day, but with a weight so heavy and a habitat of a sandy beach, can you blame them? Theyve got to be exhausted. \r
