Prosecutors want a former pharmaceutical executive to serve a 15 year prison sentence for defrauding investors.
According to their court filing, prosecutors cited Martin Shkreli's lack of remorse and respect for law as the reason for their sentencing recommendation.
Shkreli was convicted late last year of securities fraud for defrauding investors in two hedge funds he managed while serving as the CEO of a drug company.
The 34-year-old lawyers requested a 12-to-18 month sentence.
Although Shkreli still awaits his sentencing, US District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto has already ordered him to forfeit over $7 million in assets to compensate the defrauded investors.
