'Game Changer' F-35B starts first official deployment

The F-35B described as the most 'capable aircraft ever to support a Marine rifleman on the ground' has begun its first operational deployment. The B range, with new capabilities including vertical landing and short take-off, is described as making the Marine Air Task force as more 'lethal' and 'effective'. The aircraft will be part of upcoming scheduled patrol of the Indo-Pacific region.
