ICE Slams Oakland Mayor After She Warned About Raids Mayor Libby Schaaf alerted residents about impending immigration raids on Saturday. Federal immigration agents said Schaaf told the public about the raids a day before the operation. "I am sharing this information publicly not to panic our residents but to protect them." Since Sunday, ICE arrested more than 150 people in Northern California who they claim violated immigration laws. "The Oakland mayor's decision to publicize her suspicions about ICE operations further increased that risk for my officers and alerted criminal aliens -- making clear that this reckless decision was based on her political agenda." ICE Deputy Director Thomas D. Homan
