Dolly Parton Has Now Donated Over 100 Million Books to Library of Congress Together with Carla Hayden, the head of the Library of Congress, Parton celebrated donating her 100 millionth book from her nonprofit, Imagination Library, which has been donating books to children for over 20 years. It makes me feel proud of who I am, where I'm from and the fact that I am in a position to help people and especially the kids. It's so important to me because if you can teach children to read they can dream and if you dream you can be successful. Parton originally started the nonprofit in honor of her father, who couldn't read or write.
