Two lions that were rescued from conflict zones in Iraq and Syria have been transferred to their final home, in Lionsrock sanctuary, South Africa, according to a video shared by Four Paws on February 28.The lions, Simba, from Mosul, and Saeed, from Aleppo, were first transferred to Jordan after being rescued.Simba and a bear were the only two animals left alive at a zoo in Mosul, which was used by Islamic State fighters during their occupation of the city, according to Iraqi local media reports in 2017.
