ED moves to special court in Mumbai, seeks issuance of a Non-Bailable Warrant against Nirav Modi

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has moved a special court in Mumbai, seeking issuance of a Non-Bailable Warrant against Nirav Modi. The court will give its order on the ED’s plea after hearing the arguments. Meanwhile, Nirav Modi's company Firestar has filed for bankruptcy in the United States (US). Firestar Diamond filed the chapter 11 voluntary petition in the New York Southern Bankruptcy Court. Firestar Diamond, which on its website states that its operations span the US, Europe, the Middle East, the far east and India, blamed liquidity and supply chain challenges. IT listed up to $100 million in assets and debt.
