TSA to Test Bomb-Detecting Cameras for Subways

TSA to Test Bomb-Detecting Cameras for Subways On Tuesday, the Transportation Security Administration announced it is testing the technology for Amtrak at New York's Penn Station. The bomb-detection equipment will feature cameras that can detect explosive devices on a person, hopefully thwarting any attacks by suicide bombers wearing detonating vests. The TSA has been testing these devices for a decade and noted they will not produce radiation emissions. The news comes after recent threats in public areas of transportation, like the New York City subway pipe-bomb in December and the shooting deaths at a Florida airport last January.
