Sling TV Now Boasts Title of Largest Internet-Based Live TV Service Parent company Dish released their fourth quarter subscriber count Wednesday. Their 2.2 million subscribers are more than AT&T’s one-year-old DirecTV Now, Playstation Vue, YouTube TV and Hulu Live TV. Sling TV’s customer base grew 47 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017 from 1.5 million in Q4 of 2016. Sling TV is the oldest live TV streaming service on the market, launching just ahead of PlayStation Vue in Feb. 2015. It wasn’t all good news for Dish, as they announced decreased earnings and revenue from 2017. Many of their customers have moved on to other services like Netflix - which claims about 118 million subscribers.
