School Shooting Survivors Seek to Address Lawmakers
  • 6 years ago
More than 100 students and parents boarded 3 busses in Coral Springs, Florida the day after President's Day weekend.
En route to the state's capital, the group is heading to Tallahassee to address their governor and legislature on gun laws.
Tyra Hemans, an 18-year-old senior, is making the 400-mile journey because she is tired and exhausted of stupid gun laws.
Hemans added that she's not going back to school until make lawmakers change a law permitting the sale of assault rifles.
The group organized in the wake of last week's shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 14 students and 3 faculty were killed.
