Is Rosie O’Donnell having financial issues? RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the former co-host of The View filed a lawsuit to lower the assessment on her New York property before selling off multiple homes.
In court papers obtained from Supreme Court of New York – County Of Rockland, O’Donnell filed a lawsuit against Town of Orangetown on July 29, 2016.

In the petition, O’Donnell explained how the town of Orangetown’s assessment of her real property for the 2016/2017 tax year are “erroneous by reason of inequality” because they have been “made at a higher proportionate valuation than the assessments of other taxable real property of the same major type on the same assessment roll of the Town of Orangetown.”
She claimed that while her property was assessed at a rate more than 49.85 percent of its full value, other property owners on the same roll was assessed at a rate of not more than 49.85 percent of its full value.
“Petitioner is and will be aggrieved and injured by the aforesaid unequal, unjust, excessive and illegal assessments and will be required to pay a greater amount and proportion of taxes that would be required if the said assessments had been just and equal,” the complaint continued.
