Included in this video are musical elements of Sunday mid-morning Mass at the Church of Saint Mary, Massillon, Ohio, U.S.A., 14 October 2012. Dr. Thomas Kolar, Organist and Choirmaster; the Saint Mary Adult Choir; and parishioners all participate. The video begins and ends with the pealing of the bells of The Church of Saint Mary. Following the initial pealing of the bells, Dr. Kolar performs parts of a musical selection from rehearsal on 11 October 2012. During the Mass, the lyrics to the Gloria are from the 2011 English Translation of the Roman Missal. The Responsorial Psalm is Psalm 90, verses 12 through 17. The Gospel Acclamation is from the Gospel of Saint Matthew, chapter 5 verse 3. Let Us Love One Another (1 John, chapter 4) is the offertory hymn. Go, Be Justice, (Martin Willett, John Wyeth) follows. The video consists mostly of a collection of photographs taken and compiled by R.G. Herbst between 2005 and 2012. In the first part of the video, the photographs explain the origin and title of most of the named windows within The Church of Saint Mary. The artist, Gabriel Loire (April 21, 1904-December 25, 1996) of
Chartres, France, designed and executed the main windows in the early 1960s utilizing an impressionistic style. The financial donors are recognized in a 1958 renovation plaque just inside the south entrance to the church. Mr. Loire prepared the faces and hands of the windows
himself. The remainder of window construction was completed by his staff under his direction. There are 700 shades of glass colours used in the windows executed by Mr. Loire. The type of construction is called "facet glass." The outside surface of the glass is ground smooth along with the concrete in which it is imbedded, but the inside surface of the glass is broken off so that the surface of the glass has many facets which refract and reflect light and spread it out over the window. The second part of the video features the bricks that were added in the Summer of 2012 to the cross situated due south of the main entrance to The Church of Saint Mary. The video is a tribute to the love and dedication of many church members, past and present, who have contributed time, talent, and funds to the church that offers praise and glory to the Most High God; Jesus Christ, His Son; and the Holy Spirit; and honors the Holy Mother of God.
