New York Times Hires And Fires Opinion Writer Within Hours

The New York Times hired and fired opinion writer Quinn Norton in the space of seven hours on Tuesday. Norton was Wired Magazine's former head of opinion. She wrote on technology, and was hired by the New York Times to lead its own tech opinion section. Twitter users uncovered Norton's friendship with neo-Nazi Andrew Auernheimer, as well as her use of homophobic and racist slurs in old tweets.
