DOJ Official Quits Partly Over Russia Probe Fear

The Justice Department's number three attorney was unhappy with her job months before the department announced her departure on Friday. Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand grew frustrated by vacancies at the department, and feared she would be asked to oversee the Russia investigation. Brand has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, while public criticism continues of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein by President Donald Trump, who is feeling the heat of Robert Mueller's investigation.
