Purdue Pharma, the company known for creating OxyContin, will no longer market opioid drug to doctors. According to nbcnews.com, "The move comes amid a series of state and municipal lawsuits that blame the company for contributing to the opioid epidemic." Purdue Pharma has been accused of overtly and irresponsibly pushing doctor's to give their patients OxyContin.
