Whoopi Goldberg recently said she is aware that Donald Trump is the nation's leader but admitted she can't bring herself to say the words "president" and "Trump" together.  In an interview on CNN's 'The Axe Files' that aired Saturday, Goldberg told host David Axelrod that the pairing suggests honor is somehow being given.  She went on to note that her distaste for Trump predates his 2016 election victory, then specifically referenced his dogged efforts to delegitimize Barack Obama's presidency by asserting he wasn't born in the United States.
In regard to whether she believes Trump is a racist, Goldberg commented, "You know...you keep saying you're not racist and then you do racist stuff."
"And then you hear racist things and you don't say, 'Hey, that's not how we talk here,'" she further noted. "So for me, he has a lot of issues."  Goldberg referenced some of those issues on the day after Trump was declared the 2016 victor, saying on ABC's 'The View,' that his win is "not so comfortable for me."
She went on to blast the newly named president-elect for the apparent fear his campaign rhetoric instilled in many, commenting, "…my friends' children are afraid because this fool has said, and I know he's the president, but for me when you scare children by saying you're not going to let them stay in the country and you're going to separate them out, children don't know what you're talking about" "No child should be afraid that their parents are going to be taken away because they're Muslim or they're Mexican or they're black," Goldberg further stated. "No kid should ever have to deal with that. And that to me is an issue."
