Dow Jones Falls Over 1,000 Points For Second Time This Week The Dow dropped 1,033 points, the second worst drop in its history, eclipsed only by Monday's drop of 1,175. The 4.2 percent decline on Thursday means that the market as a whole is down 10 percent from its record-high two weeks ago. Fears about the bond market, interest rates and inflation drove the market further down after a slight recovery from Monday.
