to Rise This Year Every Feb. 14, couples get together to celebrate the love they have for each other and dig deep into their pockets while doing so. According to the National Retail Federation, Valentine's Day spending is projected to increase to $143.56 from $136.57. This number includes money spent on flowers, jewelry, candy, clothes and other gifts. Total spending is expected to reach $19.6 billion,
near 2016's all-time high.
