SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket successfully took off on Tuesday night (21:45 in France) from Cape Canaveral, Florida, propelling the world's most powerful rocket launcher to the forefront of Martian conquest.
The aerospace world was watching Tuesday at the Kennedy Space Center Complex 39 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It is from this mythical no-shot, which saw the Saturn Vs take off from the Apollo program and the American space shuttles, that the 1,500 tons of the "Falcon Heavy", the last launcher out of the Spaxe X factories, were torn off ground for a first demonstration flight.
The mission (successful), was to propel in space deep a useless load, in this case a Tesla Roadster - remember that this is a test flight - and recover the first three stages of the launcher. Elon Musk had hinted that his rocket was likely to "explode in flight". It was not the case.
