Modicare: Free mega health insurance scheme to cost Rs 12,000 cr annually, may be implemented from October 2. The health insurance scheme, as per the Budget, aims to cover 10 crore families or between 40 to 50 crore citizens – roughly 40 percent of the total population.The scheme, which will replace the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), is expected to significantly increase healthcare facitilies, particularly those in smaller towns and villages.
