Polar bear with cub flees after waking up sleeping walrus
  • 6 years ago
A hungry polar bear was hunting with its cub when it had to run away from an angry walrus.

The footage, captured on Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago between mainland Norway and the North Pole, shows the polar bear with its cub roaming around two napping walruses.

Out of curiosity, the polar bear sniffs and touches one of the walruses with its paw.

All of a sudden the giant awakes and fends him off.

The polar bear can be seen quickly walking away with its cub.

The filmer writes: ''This mother and cub appeared very thin and in need of a kill.

''This encounter with the large and powerful walrus seemed a sad attempt to find any possible meal.''
