Car Crash Kills 'American Idol' Contestant, Former NBA Player

“American Idol” contestant Leah LaBelle and her husband, former NBA player Rasual Butler, were killed in a single car collision on Ventura Boulevard in California early Wednesday around 2 AM. According to police, Butler lost control of the couple's Range Rover, hitting a parking meter before slamming into a wall and flipping the car over. Labelle competed on the third season of “American Idol” in 2004, making it all the way to the top 12. Over his professional basketball career, Butler played for several teams, including the Hornets, Clippers, Bulls, and Spurs.
