Plane Drops Red Fire Retardant on Remote Gippsland Bushfire

A plume of bright red fire retardant was dropped on a forest fire in the remote Caledonia region of Gippsland, Victoria, on January 26.The fire was sparked by lightning on January 25, according to the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
