Saudi Billionaire Prince Alwaleed Released As Corruption Probe Winds Down
  • 6 years ago

On Saturday, Saudi Arabian billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was released from detention, more than two months after he was taken into custody in the kingdom’s sweeping crackdown on corruption. A senior Saudi official said Prince Alwaleed’s release had come about after a financial settlement was reached with the attorney general. The decision to release him and several other tycoons suggests that the main part of the investigation probe is beginning to wind down.
