According to local officials on Tuesday, rescue workers were searching for five people who remain missing following an explosion and fire early on Monday at an oil and gas drilling site in eastern Oklahoma. Officials said that the fires at the well site, operated by Red Mountain Energy, had been extinguished and that no Red Mountain Energy employees had been on site at the time of the incident. Chief Executive Andy Hendricks said that Patterson-UTI, owner of the rig, is working with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to determine the cause of the incident, and that it was too early to speculate.
