Senators Strike Deal To End Government Shutdown
  • 6 years ago
US senators have struck a deal to temporarily fund the federal government into Feburary.
After a three-day shutdown, the Senate has moved beyond an impasse over immigration and border security.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer stated Democrats would support legislation to reopen the government by the end of the day.
After he spoke, the Senate voted 81-to-18 in a procedural vote to forego any filibuster on the pending continuing resolution.
