Minneapolis Home Inspector Shows Stucco Cladding in Central Minnesota Has Moisture Problems

EIFS aka Stucco cladding that is not installed properly is notorious for moisture issues outside and inside the home. This moisture is known to cause deterioration due to mold, wood decay fungi and corrosion leading to decay, loss of strength and discoloration. The EIFS Should not be touching wood, and should never have mushrooms growing out of the window sills. Mushrooms grow out of wet wood and decay and growing out of a window is not a good sign. Moisture might be behind the wall and there could be mold and deterioration of the interior sheathing, sheetrock, wood studs and insulation.
We will recommend a certified moisture company come in and see what are the condition of the inside of the home.
