Pence Praises Relationship Between Egypt and US in Cairo Vice President Mike Pence met with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah el-Sissi and reportedly called him a "friend" of the United States, media reported. The two leaders spoke for two and a half hours. Sissi told Pence that he is a "dear guest" in the country while Pence praised Sissi for working alongside the U.S. to combat terrorism in the region.
