Federal Government Likely To Shutdown

The Senate voted against a key procedural step necessary to pass a GOP-led short-term funding bill Friday night. This all but guaranteed the federal government will enter a partial shutdown.
The cloture vote allows a bill to proceed without the ability of a member to filibuster. It has so far failed to get the 60 votes were needed for passage. The vote technically remains open as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not cast his vote.
