Will Errol Spence Jr. Prove His Place Amongst Elite With Win Over Lamont Peterson?

On Saturday night, IBF Welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. will face off against former WBA Welterweight titleholder Lamont Peterson at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The undefeated Spence, with a perfect record of 22 wins with 19 knockouts, has been viewed as a future star of the sport, and has faced off against increasingly difficult competition, most recently in his knockout of Kell Brook last May in Sheffield, England. His opponent, 33 year-old Lamont Peterson, is a former two-weight world champion, with his biggest career win coming over Amir Khan in 2011. Peterson, the far more experienced of the two fighters, has fought against the weightclass's elite, with losses to Timothy Bradley, Lucas Matthysse, and Danny Garcia.
