Fire which had broken out earlier on Friday in Bengaluru's Bellandur Lake has been now doused. The smoke was seen billowing from the highly polluted lake. However, the cause of the fire is ascertained but the lake may have caught fire due to its high pollutants contamination. The fire started at around 10:30 am on Friday. However, this is not the first time that lake has spat fire. Earlier, on 2017, the NGT came down hard on city's civic agencies for failing to clean up the lake. Bellandur lake is the largest lake in Bengaluru and has been subjected to harsh treatment by the industrial treatment.
