Which Animals Use Their Tails As Weapons?

Most animals tend not to use their tails as weapons. Why? According to gizmodo.com, "bony tail weapons are usually associated with large, armored herbivores." Scientists of a paper called Proceedings of the Royal Society B, stated, "We suggest that the volution of tail weaponry is rare because large, armored herbivores are uncommon in extant terrestrial faunas."
