Crypto Crash: Bitcoin Falls 47 Percent from Last Month's Peak; Major Altcoins Also Down

The selloff in the cryptocurrency market continued unabated on Tuesday, with Bitcoin and other major currencies falling massively from their Monday's close.

While Bitcoin fell below $10,000 briefly before managing to close above $11,000 for the day, Ethereum and Ripple also declined significantly, closing the day at $975 and $1.12 respectively.

Bitcoin ended the day 16.85% lower, but the other two fared even worse, falling by as much as 21.29% and 30.65% respectively. All other major cryptocurrencies also fell significantly with the sole exception of 'Tether', which managed to buck the trend, ending the day 4.24% higher at $1.05.
