In a press release issued on Monday, CVS pharmacy announced they will be rolling out a “CVS Beauty Mark” to indicate pictures that have not been altered in post production. The company has hopes to set a new standard for body positivity in the beauty industry. The watermark will indicate that "a person's shape, size, proportion, skin or eye color, wrinkles or any other individual characteristics” have not been changed or edited. The press release clarifies that the new standards will apply to CVS produced beauty images that appear in stores, on their website and their social media. They are striving to work with their beauty brands and partners to have the store fully transparent by the end of 2020.
