President Donald Trump’s promise of "fake news" awards has fired up comics - and has them competing for a “prize.”
According to Reuters, Trump has called the press “the enemy of the people."
Late-night TV hosts swiftly dubbed the awards “The Fakeys” or “The Trumpies.”
But Jimmy Kimmel calls them “The Stupid People’s Choice Awards."
Stephen Colbert is campaigning for “Fakest Dishonesty,” “Dishonestest Corruption” and “Smallest Button."
And Samantha Bee is hoping to take home a prize for "Shrillest Reporting."
“The Daily Show” argues its South African-born host, Trevor Noah, is “literally un-American.”
Having already postponed the award show once, there are no details as to whether or how Trump intends to go ahead with his awards.
