A group of climbers rescued two tourists who became trapped beneath the ice of a frozen river in Inner Mongolia on Saturday.

The rescuers used ropes to haul the trapped tourists through the ice and to safety.

According to local reports, the rescue took about ten minutes and no-one was severely injured in the incident.
