Active search underway for 12 missing Marines after 2 helicopters collide

Two Marine CH-53 helicopters have collided off the Hawaiian island of Oahu just before midnight on Thursday, according to the U.S. coast guard. Each aircraft had six people aboard and wreckage has been spotted off the coast, near the town of Haleiwa. The marine corps has tweeted that there is an active search and rescue underway. There was no immediate word on what caused the collision or if any survivors have been found.
