Severe weather reported in the French Alps caused a number of avalanches on January 9.A video posted from Val d’Isere, a popular ski resort, shows a slow-moving avalanche silently passing a chalet on the mountain, which was closed at the time.On January 9, an avalanche reportedly occurred in Les Houches, two hours north of Val d’Isere, burying 15 chalets in its path.
