Shitala shasti vrat always performed on the sixth date of the Shukla Paksha or the sixth date of the Magh Month. This fast is on 7th January 2017 this year. Women keep fast on Sheetla Shasti for their children's long life and happiness.This fast is also called Bassiaura. This fast is mostly prevalent in Bengal and North India.
