Wednesday marked the third snowiest day in the history of Charleston, South Carolina, as over 5 inches of snow fell in the state on January 3, the National Weather Service said .This video, geotagged to Mount Pleasant, shows a boy making use of a body-surfing board to slide along a road towed behind a pickup truck.The severe weather prompted schools in several counties to close, and thousands of residents living near the coast lost power, according to local reports.The city recorded its heaviest snowfall in December 1989, when six inches accumulated, NWS said.
