Chicago Rivers Nearly Freezes Over After Extreme Cold Hits the City

The high in Chicago was 11 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills dipping as low as minus-29 degrees, on Tuesday, January 2, causing the Chicago River to partially freeze over.The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the deep freeze would linger in the city until Sunday, when the temperature was set to reach a high of 32 degrees.
