There were reports that the government had closed 8% savings (taxable) bond 2003. But now the news has been rejected by the government, in which it was said that the savings of 8% of the savings bond schemes are shutting down. It has been said from the government that 8% of the bonds are replacing Bonds with interest of 7.75%. It was claimed that the Finance Ministry will close 8% savings (taxable) bonds, 2003, from January. However, Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has said this on Twitter via tweet.

ऐसी खबरें आईं थी कि सरकार ने 8% बचत (कर योग्य) बॉन्ड 2003 को बंद कर दिया है । लेकिन अब सरकार की ओर से उन खबरों को खारिज किया गया है जिसमें यह कहा जा रहा था कि 8 फीसदी वाले सेविंग बॉन्ड स्कीम बंद हो रहे हैं। सरकार की ओर से कहा गया है कि 8 फीसदी वाले बॉन्ड्स को 7.75 फीसदी की ब्याज वाले बॉन्ड्स से रिप्लेस कर रही है। दावा किया गया था कि वित्त मंत्रालय ने 8% बचत (कर योग्य) बॉन्ड , 2003 को को जनवरी से बंद कर दिया जाएगा। हालांकि आर्थिक मामलों के सचिव सुभाष चंद्र गर्ग ने ट्विटर पर ये बात ट्वीट के जरिए बताई है ।
