Many areas in the U.S. were hard-hit by a recent and especially heavy snowfall.
Among them was New York's town of Lorraine, where the snow piled so high it trapped a woman in her home, reports WNYW.
The Lorraine Volunteer Fire Company Inc. responded to a call for help and arrived to find the better part of the house buried.
Rescuing the woman required much more than manpower and shovels. Firefighters reportedly used a front-loading tractor to clear an exit route, notes WHEC.
In a Facebook post about the effort, the department wrote, "Residents in the Town of Lorraine and Worth, please check on your neighbors."
"We were called to this residence this morning on French Settlement Road, where the resident couldn't get out of her home," the post further noted. "Over 6 feet of snow fell yesterday in parts of the area."
