Snowstorm Smashes Pennsylvania's Snowfall Record

Erie, Pennsylvania, broke the state’s all-time daily snowfall record after receiving a total of 34 inches of snow on Christmas Day.The previous record was a snowfall of 20 inches on November 22, 1956.Snow continued to fall heavily on Tuesday, December 26, as snow levels reached 55 inches in under 36 hours. The cold didn’t seem to bother Julia Policano’s husky Nika who battled her way through snow despite being out of her depth.A severe weather warning remains in place for Erie until 4pm on December 27 due to heavy lake effect snow occurring.
