Thousands turn out for Boxing Day hunt

Thousands of people turned out in the village of Lebury in Herefordshire on Tuesday to support the annual Boxing Day hunt.

Similar hunts are taking place up and down the UK on December 26.

Fox hunting remains a controversial subject in the UK where hunting with a pack of hounds was banned in 2004.

However, hunting goes on with many now following a scent trail instead of a fox, or working around loopholes in the law.

British Prime Minister Theresa May promised as part of her 2017 election manifesto to allow a free vote in parliament on overturning the ban.

However, there have been reports that May will announce in early 2018 plans to drop the vote on fox hunting - a move certain to anger rural Conservatives.
