Meryl Streep Hurt by Rose McGowan's Criticism

Meryl Streep has responded to Rose McGowan – and she says it hurt to be attacked by the 44-year-old actress.
Streep spoke to the Huffington Post and revealed that she wasn’t deliberately silent, and doesn’t tacitly approve of rape. She said she didn’t know about Harvey Weinstein’s alleged actions, and she doesn’t like young women being assaulted.
She also addressed Rose specifically and said she passed along her phone number to the outspoken actress in hopes she would call so she could defend herself and commend Rose on her bravery.
Meryl added that Rose assumed something untrue about her and she wants her to know the truth. She feels sorry that she sees her as an adversary because they both stand in defiance to the same implacable foe.
