Twitter has Begun the Process of 'Purging' Accounts The social media company has started to remove or ban accounts that don't follow its new harassment guidelines. Twitter shared the news in a blog post on Monday. Today, we will start enforcing updates to the Twitter Rules announced last month to reduce hateful and abusive content on Twitter. Through our policy development process, we’ve taken a collaborative approach to develop and implement these changes, including working in close coordination with experts on our Trust and Safety Council. Among the first set of accounts to be banned was a top-official of a far-right British group whom President Trump had retweeted last month.
