Sarah Sanders' Tweet About Year's Underreported Trump Stories Backfires

Sarah Huckabee Sanders' tweet about this year's underreported stories sparked numerous reactions.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday asked Twitter users about some of the "underreported" stories related to President Trump's first year in office.
"Which is the more underreported story of [Trump's] Year One? Defeat of ISIS,  Booming Trump economy," Sanders wrote.
Many on social media, however, questioned Trump's role in those two areas.
"Please tell me how Trump defeated ISIS? And how did he [affect] the economy?" noted one tweeter.
"The booming economy has more to do with Obama than it does with Trump," someone else tweeted.
"Sorry! BarackObama did both of those. You guys haven't passed a bill and have been lame ducks since day 1. Better luck next year," responded another Twitter user.
While it's difficult to answer how much credit the president deserves for today's economy versus Obama, Trump has repeatedly touted the booming economy as one of his key accomplishments in the first year.
"Things are going really well for our economy, a subject the Fake News spends as little time as possible discussing!" Trump tweeted on December 10. "Stock Market hit another RECORD HIGH, unemployment is now at a 17 year low and companies are coming back into the USA. Really good news, and much more to come!"
