The Homeless In Trouble Due To The Fires

In some parts of Santa Barbara County, the Thomas fire has caused apocalyptic scenes. Ash is everywhere, the air is smoky and there’s a persistent pink haze to the light that is like a constant dusk. The Thomas fire erupted Dec. 4 and has been scorching Santa Barbara and Ventura counties since. An estimated 1,500 people in Santa Barbara County live on the street or in shelters and the health effects have been dramatic. A primary issue is the air quality.
