'The Last Jedi' Brings In $104.8 Million For Friday Box Office

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" made almost 105 million dollars domestically on its opening day Friday. It put the franchise film on a path to easily exceed the film’s projected 200 million dollar opening weekend. The eighth episode in the Skywalker family space saga was written and directed by Rian Johnson. He is the first filmmaker to helm a Star Wars film from his own script since Lucas’ third film in his prequel trilogy, called Revenge of the Sith.
